I don't see any COPO's in that VIN range. There was a batch of Yenko's that had VIN's earlier than that car but then there is a jump in VIN's before the next batch. So I would doubt it's a COPO. What are the indicators that make you think it might be a COPO?

has 12 bolt base model no options no fin factory x44 body code. Where do you find a vin list for copo? I found for Yenko

The 12 bolt in a COPO would be coded BE...Go look on the pass side axle tube facing the front and write down what the code is.

An X44 could have been a SS 350 w/o style trim. Does it have a small block heater core with the inlet/ outlet to the far right side of the cover? Small block radiator, motor mounts and tranny crossmember?

No, you got that backwards. An X11 car could be an SS350. X44 with a small block would be a base car 307 or 350 2bbl motor.

Could be a 327 also.

Did the X codes and 327 overlap? I know the 327 was phased out when the 307 appeared as the base V8. So if you had a 327 X44 car it would have to be late Dec to Jan, right?

Kurt, a technical question. On the later COPO's they started coding them with X44D80 (and X11D80) and although it is theoretically possible that you could have a base car with spoilers, has anyone actually ever documented an X44D80 trim tag on a car that was NOT a COPO or Yenko?

I will barge in here.
I have seen several X44D80 and X11D80 cars that were not COPOs.

I've even seen an L6 car with a X44 D80 tag. Ohhh, now that's sporty. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Is it a cx automatic or 4spd car?
I sold a x 44 d80 a couple years back I may have made a mistake oops
