I am trying to find make a good set of 2 piece front disc brake rotors for a 68 Camaro. I have one with enough meat to turn and use, One is a little thin. 2 questions if anyone can help. What is the minimum thickness I can use? And what other model cars & years (Nova? Corvette?) would use the exact same rotor?

If I am not mistaken, someone is reproducing them now. Just buy new.

As I recall, 0.890 is the minimum rotor thickness.
Can anyone verify http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

I thought it was 0.900 minimum thickness.

.965 minimum the machine shop book said. I have the originals and they are slightly less with NO problems. I don't heat them up like you would on day to day hard driving. Unless they are real thin I can't see a problem. Wern't the same rotors used on camaro, chevelle and nova thru 1970?

For a show car or lite duty driver, .850 is fine. Over the years, I've cut a bunch of them to this with no problems.

If your gonna Stomp on them hard and often, go with the Min. thickness marked on the disc.
