I am converting my Wife's Camaro to an auto trans so she can drive it. Before anyone says "Don't do it, teach her to drive a stick", it ain't happening. Been there, tried that, the car is getting an automatic. I wanted to see if the 4 spd was anything special before selling it. There is a tag on it that reads 9784425, two numbers on the side of the case are P7T07 and 3885010. The numbers were given to me by the guy working on it so hopefully they will match up to something. Any help in identifying it is greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but P7T07 breaks down as Muncie, 67, December, 7th.
The 3885010 case was used in 66 and 67 model year.
If there's a VIN stamped somewhere, it may help decipher further.

Thanks Rick, not sure if there are any other numbers or not. Basically trying to figure out if it is a run of the mill Muncie or if it had some special application.

See how many rings are on the input shaft.
2 Rings is M20
1 Ring is M21
0 Rings it may be a very rare 67 M22. Also would have a drain plug on the side bottom, where the others wouldn't.
If there are no rings on the input, then
open the side cover after you drain the trans.
See if the gears are cut at about a 45 degree angle or a 20 degree angle.
20 (or thereabouts)degree is M22. CHA CHING. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
