I was at the show all afternoon Sat. and took a bunch of photos, as promised. I made a big mistake though. I was afraid I might fill up the camera memory, so I set the resolution a notch lower than normal, and the result is that the cars are not as sharp as they should. Definitely not up to Bruce's standards... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

So, here goes. As soon as I parked I noticed this very neat Camaro next to me.

Walked around the outside show a little and took a few more

Fell in love with this '62 Bonny. Seemed to be mostly original with just the right patina inside

That old Gasser look. I don't think it was really a race car though.

OK, now on to inside! This car must have been a handfull!!!

Allen George owns this original Altered from back in the day with a Buick straight 8. The chassis from this car was actually stolen a couple years ago, then couple buddies noticed it at a local swap meet, and they got it back!

Thanks Ken,
That reunion is very special. It's almost surrealistic. For anyone who has old time drag racing in their blood it is truly a trip back in time. So many "real" old cars and the original personalities as well, up close and personal. They're all willing to talk to anyone and tell stories of racing days. And I hate to say it, but those from that era are not getting any younger. Every year we keep losing more of them. It's uncomfortable to talk about, but I think most people realize that these opportunities to enjoy time with and learn from these old heroes are disappearing. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, I can tell you that when she turned around, there was nothing left to the imagination, if you know what I mean..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Or it could have just been the seams, which were stretched to the limit in this case http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif I really don't think there was anything under those pants except a LOT of flesh. Great coverage Verne...unbelievable stuff!.

Each their own as beauty is always in the eye of the beholder...so;
On Steve's Dana, the more I see of it the more my vote's still for leaving it unrestored! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif.

On the Butt shot, your example looks to have the heat-treated parts for sure but I thought you'd been blocked trying to get a shot of the pumpkin on that '62.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif.

As usual, I had a great time at York. Thanks to BKH for handling things on that end.

We had several regulars attending, which always makes for a fun event, but adding spice to the mix were a couple of newbies with their cool cars.., Joe with the Soul Survivor Camaro and Tom with his L-89 Camaro.

Thanks to Ed Hedrick for accepting the the Legion of Honor award for the late Don Yenko. A very special moment for all of us Yenko fanatics.

Congrats to the SCW gang for a 1-2-3 finish in the award department.

And of course thanks to Darwin Doll and his staff for another great event.
