Chad, Are these manifolds alledged to be a original born together PAIR, or with those many days between castings, might they be a made up pair ??????????
You may or may not know that the 330 casting was not the most common 70 LT-1 manifold casting # vs the 527.
At the end of the 70 Camaro production run, I believe that certain engines received one 1970 manifold and one 1971 manifold.........but so few 70 Z-28's are wearing there ORIGINAL manifolds, it hard to get accurate info on late June/July 70 Z-28's.....

Chuck,
If these are the manifolds I think they are you and I discussed them a long time ago and I have the build sheet of the Z-28 they came off of. I cannot read the date but it looks like 07-06 so I could be wrong. VIN starts with 531xxx. At that time you thought they were a legitimate matched pair.

As far as I know the RH manifold on a 1970 Z/28 would/should be the 826. If the 330 (normally found on 1971 Z's) in the auction came off a 1970 Z it would interesting to know the exact build date of the car it came off.

My Van Nuys 70Z has the 330 and 826- July 3rd built- and I remember the 330 was dated May of 70.

Rick H and others, While the guys at www.nastyz28.com (http://www.nastyz28.com) have no PROOF, a couple of situations like wundercluck's example have been written about before.
I was thinking I had my own set of mismatches but I dont.
Many years ago, I bought a early take off set from a 1971 Z-28. They are a 330 cast on Aug 29th 70 & a 041 cast on Feb 18, 1971. I cant know or prove this were born with the same engine!!!!!
My own 07E 70 Z-28 (bought from original owner in 1978) came with headers. I am not certain what I will install upon its final restoration/assy but after hearing/reading this misc info using the 826/527 combo on my 07E would seem to be wrong !!!!!!!!!!!
The above EBAY auction set has premium value to ONLY someone resstoring a very late June/July 70 IMHO........
As a Carlisle judge, I wouldnt want the mismatches past a early June car......or even late June!!!!!!!!!

Did the automatic cars use the same exhaust manifolds?

The a/t cars used the same mani's.
The Deuces were built through 06B, and were 526 & 827. So, if the '71 part number were indeed used on some late '70 CTB's and CTC's - I'd suspect that it started after the 06B build week.

I agree. I just looked at an 06B Z/28 and it had 526 and 827 exhaust manifolds. My Z is also 06B so I will be looking for 526 and 827.
The manifolds in the auction seem like a great deal for anyone with a car after 06B.
