I guess it depends on how you view things. Sounds to me like it has survived quite a bit! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif

Everybody these days uses the word survivor way too freely. Like I said with a color change and the carb and distributor missing and the car detailed thruout I think the word survivor should not be used. The z16 in the other thread,Thats a true survivor car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

I agree, "survivor" has become the "kleenex" of the collector car world. Not all tissue is Kleenex https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

This is the reason why Bloomington Gold is trying to raise awareness of what a Survivor really is. And it is not a car that has been fluffed and/or seen substansial restoration.

Just my random thoughts on the subject, not criticizing this GTO other than IMHO it is certainly not a "survivor"

I agree with Don and Colin have said. This is a really nice GTO that I would love to own, but when you see: "This restored car drives as well today as the day it left the dealer" you know it's not a 'survivor' in the spirit of the term...it's been given what some call a "sympathetic restoration"...not fully restored, but no longer a 'survivor'. Very very nice car regardless of whether it's a 'survivor', fully restored or somewhere in between.
