A/C hose rebuilding service?

I need to get one of the unique A/C hoses rebuilt for my Grandfather's 1971 Lincoln Continental. The hose was rubbing against the master cylinder, and wore a hole in the rubber section of the hose. These cars were unique in that they used a GM A6 compressor and the complete Frigedaire A/C setup just like any 1970's GM car. No one makes the replacement hoses for them.

Does anyone out there recommend a specific shop that can replace the rubber hose section and reattach the ends (or replace them)?

Thanks.

Here's the link to the car:

I think any of the vintage A/C guys can rebuild hose assemblies. Here is Classic Auto Air's website

Didn't NAPA stores make & repair AC & hydraulic hoses at one time?

They still do. Just take them your old hose. The fittings probably won't look like the originals though. Just a good functional repair that fits.

Steve, go to industrial rubber supply 7 chimney rock road just around the corner from where I used to be Across the street from UPS. They can make any hose you need on the spot while you wait. Rich.

Thx Rich. I think I may have checked with them in the past and they do hydraulic lines but not A/C lines. I will recheck with them tomorrow and see.

Napa only seems to do hydraulic hoses now. They said they had too much trouble with the A/C fittings leaking.

Re: A/C hose rebuilding service?

I called Industrial Rubber and they can make their own working version of an existing A/C hose but only if they have the proper ends in stock. They also use an industrial hose that is much thinner than the thick original hose. The real deal-killer is that they can't reuse the uniquely bent ends on the original hose. So that rules them out.

I sent the hose to Classic Auto Air in Tamps this morning. They will give me an estimate when it arrives.
