need help to find the rack with 7 teeh and how i can installed thanks |
You are going to have to get a hold of a CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL which will have the service procedure for the column.
The part should be available - maybe EBAY - My experience is that NOS tilt parts are typically easier to find. |

Most of the major parts houses have the rack. We use to fix a bunch of these. ed

It might be able to be tig welded.

You might try these guys....I've bought small parts from them in the past.

That's a common part to break on a GM tilt column. Made a good amount of money repairing tilt GM tilt columns over the years. Call this guy, I've done business with him for years and he's got everything to do with Column parts and complete units, and knows them front to back.

Thanks to all i found the correct Rack and installed lubricated and all go perfect
2 things i learn the tilt steering column many people when live car push the tilt lever and the steering wheel go up abruptly but i recommended hold the steering wheel when you tilt up because the system is to strong and may have one reason the rack going broken, the second is the buzzer when you inserted the ignition key sometimes works sometimes not is nothing wrong with the buzzer switch inside the steering column is your key the tip is rounded and may not work properly i try with brand new key and always works. thanks again |
