11/1968 date 302 DZ engine
 

I have this DZ 302 engine with the date 11/68 with 1962 202 corvette heads . I searching for the correct heads for my DZ engine ? Can you tell me what is the proper application that I need ? to run with my DZ engine .? THZX mojo

Note: 1962 corvette 202 heads are for sale too. good condition

#186 double hump w accesory holes heads are used for 69 Z28s. #291s double hump w /no accesory holes for 68

The heads will have a hole on the side for the temp sensor like the later style also.

Thzx guys i have 186 heads C 4 0 date would that be correct ? here is vin# please decode this guys ?
vin# A 36990 VI010DZ on the pad 386 block. where the date
on the block? so i may try to find the right heads...Mojoe

V1010DZ=V is for flint 10 is the 10th month (October of 68)and 10 is for the day in October. DZ is the suffix code for a 302/Z28 motor. The block date is back by the distributor where the bell housing bolts to the block. A great source of info. is the CRG (Camaro Research Group). Type it in and join it.

What is the Vin on that block it was assembled the same day as the DZ I have down in the garage...
