So many restos these days have tippy-toes stances because of new springs during the restoration. Ruins it for me. Camaros were higher than Firebirds because DeLorean wanted the Firebird to look wider (wide-track Pontiac, right?) so he had lower springs put on them. I had my Camaro in the shop last fall for some much-needed attention and it included a suspension rebuild with new, lower springs. Out went the single-leafs and in went Global West multi-leafs with a 1.5" lowering built in. 1" lower front coils and now the car looks really good to me. Lower and meaner, even for a stocker. (Gardner 'deep-tone' SS396 system went on too--look at those perfectly done oval tailpipes peeking down under the rear quarters.)
