Monday marks the 50th anniversary of John Glenn's historical first orbital flight by a US astronaut...I remember watching the space launches on TV while in grade school...it was a big event, everything stopped and we were "glued to the tube" to see the rockets blast off. America could use some of that energy and excitement again...
