Who cares what they think? Hell, you can have a 100% correct, stock, "normal" Chevelle and you're going to have to deal with "those" people anyway. For me, it's a no-brainer - how easy is it to find an unusual Chevelle? And how many of them are this unusual? PS> White stripes all the way! </div></div> Well said. |

Were they still building 1969 Chevelles at that time? Which makes me think that purple on the Chevelle is a GM truck or Cadillac color? </div></div> Hard to get a real good look but, doesn't that Mustang hardtop in that picture look like a 1970 model? If it is that might explain how he was able to get the Chevelle painted in that shade of purple. </div></div> Looks like a '69 to me. |

</div></div> A few points on this: 1. Plum Crazy indeed was a '70-71 color. 2. Production figures for 1969 colors are not available, so the "1 of 9" thing is BS. 3. Hemi Orange came out in 1969 and is quite common on A12 cars. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> It is possible mother mopar was getting some early trials of 70 colors, on 69 models. </div></div> Why would they need a trial? |

I do think the plum crazy color is possible on late production 69 camaros, as the 70 camaro production was delayed.
I myself would not believe plum crazy purple would be on a 69 chevelle, if chevelle production ended in july-august, like most cars. |

As in my previous post, I used to own a factory purple '69 Chevy truck also knew of a '70 the same color.
Pretty sure they were a Canada only thing on the trucks but whatever paint they had may've been the same used on other factory purple 69/70 GM products? Picture below looks the same as the one I had, pic scooped from pg.5 of this link... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=301319 ~ Pete ![]()
