What would the top end value of a factory painted plum crazy purple chevelle be? I saw the car up close and personal, original paint still on it.
$50K at best? its not an LS6. It is a 4 spd. I would need to know the best case value as its a long way from being close to a running car. yes it exists, and its documented on buildsheet (special paint, mopar color code, big block, cowl induction, SS, - - on cowl tag). |

Reminds a bit of the Carolina Blue and S. Carolina Tri-Centennial Gold versions of which there are very few. The times I've seen these come up for sale they really haven't produced prices any higher than any other color and oftentimes less as these colors seem to appeal to fewer. I've never heard of a documented purple one so maybe there is some pull for a potential one of a kind for the right collector but I think the overall quality of the car coupled with documentation are still the drivers for price on this year/model.
I know there have been a few documented Yellow ones along with Citrus Green, Orange, and Lemans Blue but don't have any knowledge of what some of these may have sold for. You've got an interesting find, that's for sure. .....my two cents.

My 2 cents....even if it were legitimately well documented as original, I wouldn't want it at all, just due to all the know-it-alls that would come up to you at every cruise night, car show, and what-not telling you that there's no such thing and then questioning everything else on the car.

I agree, OK color on a VW Beatle, but not a Chevelle....

Well said. If people spent as much time on things that really matter in life as they spend on knowing (and criticizing) the minute details of someone's car the world would be a thousand times better off. (Sounds like an interesting car though.) |

But think of the satisfaction when you pull out the buildsheet and show them the proof!

it is a 70. the stripes are white. I would prefer black. 396. owner history is there. I should have studied the buildsheet more when I was able to see it, but focused on the color (paint code) being on it, which I was skeptical on. and it had to be a 4spd and cowl induction. |

Who cares what they think? Hell, you can have a 100% correct, stock, "normal" Chevelle and you're going to have to deal with "those" people anyway. For me, it's a no-brainer - how easy is it to find an unusual Chevelle? And how many of them are this unusual? PS> White stripes all the way! |
