"Not trying to stir anything up" Sure you are! I don't like when threads get reduced to semantics, but to me I am thrilled when I see a car that has not been cut up. "Untouched" to me means the body has not been worked, the drivetrain and acessories are all there. Sorry for the confusion. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry if I offended you with my comments. I was merely stating my opinion, which is what these forums are all about. Whether you like it or not, this hobby is very much about semantics, and the terms untouched, survivor, matching-numbers all have taken on multiple interpretations for better or for worse. If you were selling the car and used that language to advertise it there are people who would take exception with it. Good luck with the resto ![]()

In this case, you can't call it a "Stripe Delete" vehicle,as you can't delete something it never was equipped with originally.
For 1970,the working Cowl Induction flapper hood came standard with "Cowl Induction" script,Hood Pins & Hood/Deck stripes. If the buyer asked for the stripes to be deleted,he was given a credit and the car was built w/o the stripes. That's where a "Stripe Delete" would apply. The standard Super Sport Bulge hood was just that, and needed RPO D-88 ordered to receive just the H&D stripes. Not meant to take anything away from this great Chevelle. |

Great car , Looks super in Astro Blue. Just a note D88 Hood and Deck stripes were not standard with the Super Sport package. They were included on the ZL2 option Cowl Induction hood. They were available on a Standard Super Sport hood as well as on a Malibu for and addition costs. The Only Stripe Delete is on a Cowl Inducted car and that is listed on the build sheet just like that Delete D88 striping. This is true of the 70, 71 and 72 model year all these guys claiming stripe delete are incorrect Most of your standard hood SS's Never had stripes Period.
