remember the days??? 1981: I was driving my 73 Z/28 and a truck pulled out in front of me. totaled! their insurance company wanted to give me 800 bucks for it! i was 17 years old and my parents had to fight with the insurance company and i ended up getting 3900.00 for it. was a lot back then!
I ended up taking the insurance money and buying a MINT 69 RS/Z/28 for the then unheard of price of 4300 bucks! that was a ton of money for a 69 zee at the time. I bought a 69 camaro SS 396 convertible in 85 for 3 grand and almost didnt buy it cause i was a small block guy !!! my best buy was a real 68 yenko in 89 for 1750 bucks! i've had 35 camaros since 1981 . i can remember when 2500-4000 would buy you a decent muscle car. and you drove it everyday! I've had chevelles, vettes,55-57's, V/8 vegas and novas. But i still always go back to the camaros. its really a shame they are so expensive that the kids nowadays cant enjoy them the way we did. I can remember sitting at a stop light and a gto or roadrunner pulling up next you wanting to "try it out". the traffic wasnt as bad back then either so you wouldnt back down from them. Man i miss those days.... Now i might drive one of my cars maybe once or twice a month! have ten times the amount of money i had as a kid and half as much fun. i do enjoy going out into the garage and working on them in the evenings to relax. i guess its just a part of getting old...err how bout you guys?
