Default Repairing the dent in the subframe of Camaro Nova

My subframe has a dent in it (big surprise) from floor jacks. What is the best way to repair this area? I thought about cutting a large rectangle out of the bottom panel, straightening it out, welding it back in and grinding the welds smooth. I know this is within my capabilities and would be undetectible unless someone could get a good look at the inside. The alternative would be to cut a large hole on the top piece to gain access, pound the bottom panel straight and then weld the the piece back in the top, again grinding the welds back smooth.

I do have an extra subframe I could practice on. I am sure someone has done this as it seems to be just as important as those dill valve stem caps.
