Here is a 4000 lb 1968 Impala running in the E/S class.

396/325, 10.25 compression, 4-speed running 11.94 @114mph!

In other words I can see it happening that a 1969 Camaro 302 11.1 motor could run 11.6 considering the weight advantage.
