I have a 427 cu. in a 1972 nova . How do you switch the heater core for clearance?

Go to a auto parts store and buy a 70 Nova BBC heater core. Pull the SBC heater core out. Line the BBC heater core outlets up on the heater core to the cover and drill/punch them out. When I had my Nova....I used a Greenlee punch.

Or buy a repop.... Heater Core Cover

I would also buy a set of heater gaskets so you can cover the hole in the firewall for the SBC heater core.

All of the above suggestions will work. You may need to modify the blue retaining clips that hold the core firmly in the box.

If it is an original cover, it should have dimples where the holes need to be drilled.
