Maybe I am wrong, but that air cleaner cover looks to be chrome. Weren't cowl induction cars supposed to be black lids? Just curious. Nice to see another curved neck 4 core radiator car. Nice car...

Yes chrome were used on open element/flat hoods. Cowl induction received black lids.

-----Back when these cars were new I dont think there was a kid out there that didnt switch black a-c lids out for chrome ones.It just made the engine look so much better. I remember thinking "Chevrolet must have made a mistake". I really have to resist the temptation even today to do the same thing. Correctness isnt always the way things look the best, IMHO........Bill S
