Default 1957 "Window Delivery" Chevy

A friend just picked up a 1957 "Window Delivery" chevy which was originally Black, 6 cylinder
..."with roll down side rear windows"...ever seen one?
...it has "SPL" listed twice on the cowl tag....he says they only made 92 of these...and were ordered for the Forestry dept......
....He will be looking for a 1957 6 cylinder motor for it
( it has a v8 in it now )
neat car
...where is a good place to get more info on these ?

I have seen a 55 two door wagon with the roll down side windows. Not too many of them made also.

Watch the Alfred Hitchcock movie "North By Northwest". Cary Grant gets loaded into a 56 window delivery after he gets "shot" by Eva Marie Saint. Only problem, it turns into a regular wagon before he gets out. Can you say.... Oops?

Didn't the Forestry Service order some '57 wagons with the Off-Road package?

I will refer to the JalopyJournal once again...aka...the HAMB (Google HAMB...or maybe someone will post a direct link...or even better, a direct link to the post) They had a whole subject on 55-57 Chevy deliveries with those rear windows...a bunch of good info.

BTW....I will also forward people to this site as well, when I see something that you guys can help with.
