The master cylinder is not original. It is a common replacement item from the local auto store.

pic 8...is this the right date???

[/ QUOTE ]Your build date would most likely have the small font.

is this the date of the booster??? Im not too sure...it does not make sense to me...and does the master cylinder look right?? it looks a bit newer than the rest as though it may have been replaced at some point....

..also the little sticker on the wiper motor has a 6A on it...would that be correct on a 5E car?? I figured it would be before the car build date...? Thanks

I had my 67 RS completley restored in 6 months. As long as I kept the money comming, they stayed on the car.

[/ QUOTE ]master cyl can be early 1969 version, check under it for casting number and date code on front boss. ...Your date on booster is 325 which is 325th day of 1968 (if you check back of tab you will see part number stamped 9204, or sometimes 920 because font is large and 4 didn't make it on.) For reference my Camaro has build date of 12B with booster dated 330 and date on master of 343...your date would likely be to early for your car but because the booster is dated prior to 5C wood still make it OK?

the booster on my 05A z-28 is a small font and is iether 102, or 120. i dont have the car with me. not sure on the master, although i thought that they all came with the 309 master with bleeder screws, but the jl-8's didnt have a metering valve. check with brian henderson at super car workshop. he is awesome, and do yourself a favor.... do it once, do it right, and be done with it. imho.

Your lucky you still have parts on the car. I'm not accusing the shop of theft, but sitting in there for 2 years....lots of parts could have been removed. Your lucky that isnt the case.
Remove the car and DIY. The two years lost could be made up in no time.

I call it paint jail. It seems like paint shops are good for one job and trail off after that. I wish I could find a shop that could do what they said they would, for the amount they quoted, in the time frame estimated. It would also be fun to ride a flying pig .

It seems most collision shops tell you they know what you want, top notch work, then it sits and finally after enough complaining or work gets slow they jump in and usually hurry it but expect payment for a meticulous job. What dealership sold your car when new?

I understand the problems with the body shops. I own a restoration shop myself. I've been doing it for 20 years
I would be glad to help anyone with there project or if
any questions.
