Jason, this stuff is really neat...looking forward to seeing the results. What has been your experience with painting over areas that are a little rough...like those control arms you see in the photo..?? Thanks

Tom,

It will fill in some voids if you lay it on thicker. Just go slow and don't reduce it. If you do want to reduce it for certain areas I have used lacquer thinner. It changes the color a bit though. The stuff covers 220 scratches and more so it is pretty forgiving. Just play with it. It is cheap enough that you could resand the areas and reshoot and not kick yourself too hard.

Tom,
I was told to reduce it with xcelyne you can pick it up at any hardware store. But to fill the void's I would just do a couple of coat's. I have used this stuff on all my cars it gives that perfect finish IMO. I usually spray it with my priming gun with a 1.8 tip. The best part about the product is you can touch it up with a paint brush and hardly notice it when it drys. Great for frame's because you get a lot of road chip's when you drive them.

Well, we did some more work on Saturday afternoon. I finished cleaning the sub-frame and engine and started the painting process. This SEM Rustshield is the BOMB it goes on like butter and really covers the imperfections. I "brushed" it on and when it dries youcan barely tell the difference from spraying. You have to use a good quality brush to get a smooth finish. Next step is to get it back on the lift and paint the bottom overtop of the fresh undercoating and also finish the bottom side of the sub-frame. Then I will start on the engine painting and detailing...Jason Hale was right, this stuff is great!!

Went to visit Jason Hale this morning....he was kind enough to let me use his blast cabinet to clean some parts for the 69 car. He has a great shop...wilma is jealous
