What's a Z-10 L-78 worth? I know where one is and can be bought but have no clue on it's value. [/ QUOTE ] A real one? I'd have it inspected first. Do you have any of the #'s from it? $325K is a bit high, but it would pull some $$ I think.

Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
I would value it at or below a non Z10 L78. There are better color L78's that I would rather have.

So where'd the 'less than 100 Z11 L78's" production # in the Spurlock article originate from? [/ QUOTE ] Being a numbers geek who was born a little too late, the next best thing for me was to read magazines in the 1980s. I remember that article very well, and I can tell you that there was a lot of speculation on production figures when there was never anything concrete. You still see these things today - take the "1 of 18" LS6 ragtop claim. Where did it originate? I don't know if anyone knows for sure - never been a Chevy guy, so it's certainly beyond my paradigm - but you still see the claim from over 20 years ago. In other words, no one back then had a clue how many of these Z11 L78 cars were built because, for one thing, no one knows how many L78 ragtops were built. "100" is a perfectly round number, and chances are there is another car out there receiving the same claims. If you are able to see that the claims are based on 20 year-old speculation, you can probably conclude it's all BS. |

Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
Since Chevrolet only kept records of individual rpo's produced and not combinations, we can only use interpolation, extrapolation or WAG's or any combination there of.

Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
I own the 4 spd Hult Chevrolet L78 Pace Car. I have seen about 6 or 7 others. I would guess maybe about 20 or so existed , but that is just a guess. A few that are considered "real" out there, could also be fakes.

Re: 69 Camaro L78 Z11
Well, "the only L78 Z10 known to be in existence today" is down to $175,000.
http://www.classiccarmarketing.net/1969CamaroPace.htm Wonder if someone let them know the docs are suspect and that the car may have started life as an L35. Lynn |
