On an Easter Egg hunt.
I'm trying to locate a copy of ANYTHING related to Doublemont Chevrolet in Louisville, KY circa 1970. I'd love to find an old dealership plate, sticker or even a copy of an ad from these guys from back in the day but no go. I'd like to either find an original sticker (or even a photo of one or a scan of an ad with their logo) and have one reproduced for my 1970 Chevelle. Doublemont is gone apparently. I've checked eBay, spent a few solid hours on Google's news engine. No papers from the Louisville area have been scanned yet. Any ideas or can you think of anywhere I should check for this? The search is actually kind of fun. Thanks in advance! RMX ![]() |

Doublemont Chevy was 3 or 4 miles from my house and one of the twins still has the dealership. I will see what I can find here locally. I am sure I have a few part tags from them still on NOS Parts. Today it is Bob Montgomery Chevrolet Honda if you want to look it up and the building still looks the same.

I'd really appreciate that. I think it would be cool to have some kind of dealership memorabilia to go along with the car. I could probably whip up a dealership sticker in Illustrator if I had something with their old logo. Do you know the name of the family member still working there? I did check out the dealership in Google street map. Looks like the old Chevy dealership I grew up near in Michigan City, IN. Thanks so much! RMX |

Bob Motgomery is the sole owner now and he was half of the original Doublemont pair, his son runs the Honda store they have. Joe Pace was the parts manager and I think still is, Brock Brocato worked on the parts counter and is a very good friends father and we use to have lunch a time or tow each week when I was a kid running a Gulf station down the street. In the old days we would dumpster dive and get the obsolescent parts out and use them or buy them for little of nothing before they hit the garbage, that was the very old days.

Did they place their dealer emblem on the back window? Never saw one like that.

My '67 75K original miles Caprice was bought new at Doublemont and came with that exact sticker in the same location.

Hi guys haven't logged in for a bit...
The location was an educated guess. The family told me they placed dealership stickers in the "back windows". They were kind enough to send me 3 different versions of their dealership stickers. 2 of the three said "Doublemont Chevrolet-Honda" on them (I figured that would have been too new for a 1970 vehicle). What I installed was only one that read "Chevrolet" and looked to me to be the correct period lettering. I stared at my back window a bunch of times and determined the only logical place it could go would have been in the middle down low. The other stickers they sent me: ![]() ![]() ![]() This came about as a result of asking for help in the Kentucky section FerrariChat (strangely). I would still kill for a dealer plate or plate frame. These are good folks down there...I would buy a car from them in a heartbeat even though they are about 650 miles from me.
