Default 1969 Pace Car in barn

Hi ! Today I went to look at a Pace car sitting in a barn. I have known the guy a few years and it is not for sale, so I was just curious to see what he had. It has not been driven for a few years but it runs pretty good. Original 350 cui engine was traded in when a previous owner bought the 427 and the original 12-bolt was scrapped years ago when the ring and pinion gave up, so the TH 350 is the only original part of the drivetrain. The L36 427 uses the SB engine mounts so it is very tight on the drivers side. Restoration is scheduled to begin next winter.

It seems like this one was not on the "known" Pace cars list, even though it was featured in a magazine in 1975. So we are one up now !

Cool stuff Anders!.

Am I wrong or is that MK1V block stamping LQ so not just any L36 but actually the original lump from an L68 TriPower '69 'Vette?.
It's not stamped LO from an L88 is it!?

Again please correct me if I'm wrong but from here it looks like T1031LQ - 19S735015 ?.
If so and stampings original it appears to be from a '69 L68/Stick 'Vette built in the last 10% of the '69 model production run?.
Can you search for cars by Vin over there?.

Vin 194379S735015 - Coupe L68/Stick ?.

Vin 194679S735015 - Roadster L68/Stick ?.

It sure looks like a LO stamp.

I enlarged the image (I got a bunch from Anders) and cropped it.

Yes Pete, I read it as LQ. Maybe someone has a pic of another LQ stamp to compare it with ?

In Colvin´s "Corvette by the numbers" it says: 427 cui, 400 hp, 4-speed, L36 Engine, Holley 3x2BBL. Is that wrong ?

If you know a cars registrationnumber you can see the VIN, but I think you have to be a cop or insuranceguy to search by VIN.

Do you have my burned up Pace Car #640491 on the list? It was a Norwood car and I have the window sticker.
