Default Re: BE rear found over at camaros.net

I am that "Some Lucky Person". I have decided that installing it in my clone would be sacrilige, as it really needs to go home, above the rear springs of a true COPO camaro.

I was simply purchasing a 69 Camaro, 4.10:1 Posi 12-bolt to install in my car. I had no idea what I had purchased until I got it home and cleaned the code off, in the trailer, before I unloaded it. I took his word, that it was an original 69 Camaro 12-bolt posi. We counted the revolutions to verify the ratio. I never even popped the cover off until after I found the code on the axle.

Actually, the story I as I was told was a local guy used to drag race a 69 RSSS L78 Camaro, and was travelling all over Northwestern West Virginia, and Southeastern Ohio, up into Columbus, Akron, and as far west as Dayton/Cinn. He bought this rearend from a fellow drag racer sometime between 74-77 and stored it in his barn till "He Needed It".

He obviously knew what parts to purchase in the day.
