Default NEED help identify 70 Nova as "spring Promo" car

I have a 70 Nova that has paint code "65" (Hugger Orange) and I was told by the previous owner that it was 1 of 800? "Spring Promotion" cars. Is there any info avail. on these? ANY help/info would be GREATLY appreciated

Entirely possible. I'm no Chevrolet expert, but I know Oldsmobile would have "Spring Specials" in color combos. that weren't available in all zones and/or all year long. I kinda think that color was available on Chevelles as a COPO-type order. I'm sure someone with more "bowtie" knowledge will chime in.

I don't know that there's an exact number. I do know that for Novas they offered huggar orange, citrus green, and sunflower yellow as spring time offerings. Not sure about the promotional part of it. CG, and SFY were new for 70 colors while HO was held over from 69.

What is your Nova? SS, 6cyl, etc.

No one knows how many were made in a specific color.
Not even Chevrolet,GM or Fisher Body know,as they didn't keep track back then.
Too many seem to take advantage of this, and claim their car is 1 of ? with no proof to back it up.
Pure speculation on any ones part.

Unless he is thinking of a special promotion, I think it merely sounds like a Nova ordered in a mid-year color and nothing more.

I think they were promoting the colors as new for Novas in 70. There were many changes on mid year novas that you wouldn't notice if you weren't familiar with them, but the color would be the most visible.

It is interesting to note that the dupont paint books didn't reference the mid year colors while Ditzler/ppg, and R&M did. There may have been a special bulletin sent out at the time, but I've not seen one in an original dupont book.

It worked for Yenko! He ditched the Silver, Beige and F.Green and replaced them with the Spring Colors. Glad he did, love seeing those Spring colors on the Deuces - nothing against Gobi of course
