It would be rather difficult. You can't just throw a sheet of aluminum in a die set that has been stamping out a steel part. The aluminum will split all over the place. Being more brittle than steel, the dies need extensive rework to make a good part. It can be done but is time consuming and I doubt that GM would mess up all the dies to stamp out one part. In the draw die, they could hit the part several times drawing it in stages and might eventually get a part. You never say never when you hear this stuff but who knows. I remember years ago guys rolling their eyes when I told them that I had a factory 427 Chevelle and you know how that turned out.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
