Default A Yenko Camaro for $500k?

It's on ebay now...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro...=US_Cars_Trucks

Not bad for paying $1700 for it in 2006. I'll bet the previous owner is kicking himself now. Here's the story of the guy who found it...

Dana bought it around 2006 and paid a lot more than $1700!!!! A $&^# OF A LOT MORE! The guy that Dana bought it from is who I believe paid $1700 and that was 20 some years ago and ALL the money for that car at that time. Dana invested a LOT of money and research in this car in the time he has owned it.

rick is correct - resto's on these car can go from 125K to 200K depending on what you need.....add that to a substantial initial investment, plus the time to work thru a resto - and you have to wonder why we do it.....

IT is the outcome we are after mostly, not the final value - if the value works out it is a bonus.....

If you have not been thru the process - you don't really understand

If you can do it cheaper - then the value is cheaper unless your italian like mike angelo and he does all his own work at an amazing quality....he is one of a few.

The guy I bought it from traded a 6 cyl Mustang for it straight up in the 80's. He thought he had paid $1700. for the Mustang. Just to clarify. And yes, it was a LOT more when I bought it in 2006...
Unless I am wrong, I think all of the 68 project cars that were for sale have changed hands and are being restored.
Hey Bruce, I remember the staging lanes at Russo got a little hairy in there with the other drivers. You and Holly handled it like Pro's of course.
Everyday I look at this car I still marvel at the job Rick did. Incredible.

Thanks Mike
The best part has been bringing the car back to it's glory and meeting new people/friends along the way. With NOS parts getting harder to find it would be much more difficult to recreate that restoration today. The selling is bitter sweet, but I can't hunt down and do another car without the funds from this one.

I have seen this car on a lift and I was only a couple of inches away when I was looking it over. When you combine the quality of the work and detail done plus all the NOS and original parts used then factor in how rare the car is. I do not see how you can get much better than this car at any price.
