Great story! That engine assembly stamp is quite interesting! Normally when you see really odd assembly stamps it's a result of an engine that failed at some point on the line and was sent back to "heavy repair". This would usually result in a grind out of the original stamp and then restamped, which is obviously not the case here. Out of curiosity, how do the head/block cast dates line up?
