Thanks very much. The article still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. IT's been called Zora's "skunk works" car and there's a lot of mystery about it (them). Two are known to exist today. One is restored and the other is a shell. Both found in Oregon and both built at Oakland Ca. a couple of days apart.
The restored one is being sold by RK Motors in Charlotte (there's that name again) and I was speaking with the fellow who is buying it. The mystery (to me anyway) is why Zora would have had some special engines built for them and then had the car built at Oakland rather than right there in Detroit. The rumor is that 40 cars were built which is way more than any Police agency would order for themselves. I see no reason why Zora would have put that package together if there wasn't an order for them though. Both known cars have SPEC paint which is dark blue and a Trim code that was never published in any Chevy literature. I'd like to find the Motor Trend article because that was written when the car(s) were built. Verne |

Could be they were delivered to the Desert Proving Ground in Mesa, AZ? They also did a lot of 'special' projects out there away from prying eyes. |

Based on the photo in that article, at least one of them was in Detroit. It's parked outside the Tech Center.
