Big thanks to Tom, Doug, and Jamie and the rest of the crew that pulled this together. This event exceeded all expectations. It was nice to meet so many folks from the site. Looking forward to next year's show!

Re: SCR18
I would like to give a big thanks to the crew that made this new venue happen. Great Job! The track was timeless. Going through the museum was a neat to see the sinkhole cars. Wow!
Also I would like to thank Scott, Kenny and Adam for letting me pilot the yellow deuce for a few passes. I surprised myself with a leadoff 10.81 with a .005 light. Not bad for my first time in the car. I had a ball! That car rocks. Can't wait for next year. Joe

Re: SCR18
Wow..love the pic.
Friday was one of those days I will never forget, as during the morning session I ran a personal best, 10.09 @129, and right before loading and heading to the museum I got to race the legendary Ed Hedrick. Was able to get him out of the hole with a .037 to a .051, but he was able to drive around me on the big end, my 10.24 to his 9.87. To be able to experience this, and hang with Rob, Drew and a bunch of friends just made the day even better. Cannot wait to do it again. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: C O P O CARTEL</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Tom Clary and Ed Hedrick launching !!! Re: SCR18
ALL these cars are running great! Top shelf stuff.
Honestly the CARTEL's car impresses me the most. Pretty much set up like the old days when we would run these cars at the track and then drive them to school or work back in the day. Headers, T-bars, some safety equipment, a little suspension work with some carb and distributor modifications and maybe??? some head and valve spring work. Slap the header mufflers on and DRIVE it to the track. Monday, drive it to work for the week. Would see a car like his sitting at Burger King on a Friday nite, running in the 11's on Saturday nite on 9" tires and back to his work place on Monday morning. Golden!!! :>) |

Re: SCR18
Friday was like a trip back in time. 60s & 70s musclecars, everything from purpose built race cars to "day 2" to stock, all trying to make their next pass their best.
Was kind of funny to have a couple of newbies tell that they thought the racing portion of the SCR would just be a few guys making easy passes in their cars, then when the track went hot, like "holy ----", these guys really do race these cars.
