I spent over 20k in machining and building the original motor for my ZL-1.
(not including price of block and heads which I already had). If you are not worried about original, I think you would do better if you sell (me) your motor and heads (cheap) and buy a newer GM replacement much cheaper and for sure better quality and more modern !! You will probably spend less !! (just kidding about selling to me cheap !! ) |

BTW, those extra bosses welded on...aren't they the bosses that normally have the extra head bolts? I guess they were cut off and rewelded ??

I don't think you can magnaflux a aluminium block, it is not magnetic. They would use some other process.
