My car has one also and since the engine was rebuilt I've been fighting only getting 5 and 1/2 inches of vacuum out of it at an idle. Starts and runs okay but just has no vacuum. One hit of the brakes and that's all the power assist you get. What were you guys getting out of your engines with that.

I've never had a vacuum gauge on mine... locked out timing, manual 4 wheel discs.
This cam has a mile of lobe separation and overlap so likely not a lot of vacuum but only 5-1/2" sounds fishy. I chose this cam to kill some bottom end power for better launches on the street. Ask my friend with the 10 second 540 Camaro how well it works. Ha Ha He gets the last laugh at the track on slicks though. |
