I have a used booster I bought thinking it was correct for my '69 El Camino. I searched the classifieds and couldn't find the number. It appears to be stamped 8989 (or maybe 3989). It's also stamped 10.
Can anyone identify it? thanks Verne |

Maybe I should ask the question a different way. What is the correct booster number for a '69 El Camino with power drum brakes?

The booster which on the car now (I believe to be the original) is numbered 9354. Still confused.

It's not called out separately on the '69 Brake release engineering chart - so - apparently the same as any other A Body.
The "9354" looks like it is shorthand for "9469354", which is the full part number for the power head arrangement (master cylinder plus booster), broadcast code "CM". The master cylinder alone is a 5460351. K

Keith,
Does the 8989 number show up in your literature? Verne |

I checked the '69 and '70 charts.
In both cases the printing is a bit scratchy, and the writing is terribly small. On the '69 chart for the Olds B & C car there is an entry that could be 5468989 for the powerhead number, broadcast code FB; corresponding master cylinder part number is 5469164, coded RA. But it could also be a 5468949. Hard to say. K

Thanks for checking Keith. When I bought it, it had a tag on it saying it came off of "john does's" '69 El Camino. Anyone have a Hollander book? Maybe they can interchange????
