I thought they ran out of L79s with aluminum intakes in the beginning of 67? I thought most of the 67 Novas with L79s had the cast iron intake and a Quadrajet.

That is correct for Novas. '67 Chevelle (OP's subject engine) used aluminum with 3806 (non-smog) Holley carb. Chevelle switched to iron/Q-Jet in '68.

Default 67 l79 chevelle

this is,was a local car i remember from the 70s.a black malibu,the car itself went to a junkyard.by chance i ran into the guy who had it and took the engine out back then and kept it but sold the body.he doesnt remember (hes 76) what happened to trans or rear.actually the hold up is he cant find the keys to open up where its at.
