I wasn't familiar with that Lakewood 3-point bar. Given it bolts together and is a simple structure, I'm assuming it doesn't offer much safety or additional rigidity.

That said, it certainly looks the part!

Actually, they really do work and have saved lives. In one of the other day 2 threads, someone had posted pictures of a Camaro that rolled on the track. Car was destroyed and the driver walked away because of the Lakewood bar. It held the roof from collapsing down on the driver and he crawled out the side window. The rest of the roof had pancaked. Maybe I can find that picture here somewhere.

They can be bolted in or welded for better results but will only get past tech for slower cars running 11.99 or slower in the quarter (I think those numbers are correct). I was also told that adding a door bar to the side qualifies them as a suitable 4 point roll bar. However, this one's purely for the period look. If I did plan on racing the car I'd install a proper cage for sure.

Glad you chimed in here.

That makes sense! In a wreck at the track, while wearing a helmet, it has to be better than nothing!

And like you said, it's perfect for the period look!
