Original carpet 1969 Nova SS
My 1969 Nova SS has the original carpet in it and there is a rip in the carpet by the shifter, I have contacted the prior owners and they all claim it has always been there. Your thoughts?

I bet that just tore from over the years and due to the carpet being 49 years old. I'm sure if it was there when the car was new the original owner would have had it repaired. Just my thought. I would leave it. It's part of the history of the car and the original carpet. Plus I don't think it is that noticeable.
BTW I love your car. It is awesome. Rich

I am thinking it is original as the entire carpet is like new everywhere else. I am wondering if they factory actually cut this carpet for a 4-speed and did not realize it also had bucket seats? If this car was a bench seat, I do not think it would show.
