Myself and a couple other SYC members were considering assistance to the Prop Company putting together the HBO mini series that would follow two fictional brothers across three decades of time with a focus on 1969 and then in the early 1990's. one of the brothers was a car salesman at a chevy dealer.
Filming for the 1969 portion was scheduled for set up at the end of May after the filming was complete for the 1990 portion. Story and Video Link: https://www.automobilemag.com/news/1...wNXc8.facebook Last edited by 70 copo; 05-10-2019 at 12:03 PM. |

At the time of the fire a Corvette ZR1 was in the showroom along with a Baretta GTU Pace car with 1200 original miles.
All lost now. |

That is crazy. A buddy a few years back got $70 to have one of his cars in a movie. Sigourney Weaver rode in his Alfie, she signed the visor. They were looking for 70’s cars to fill some parking lots, I passed. Lol.

Gah. I see a 454SS there too (maybe) in the above photo, a very, very sad photo... Think I'll pass on watching the video...
When Fast & Furious was casting for cars for Tokyo Drift, maybe about 15 years ago they put out a flyer for musclecars - seemed like it'd be a cool show if nothing else and I took mine to the "casting call show" in Gardena I think it was, very cool show and lots of cars showed up. They gave me a contract to sign and I said I'd take a look and let them know, other guys were just signing away... it was a lot of pages, maybe ten or so as I recall and read like a very well written legal contract - turned out to be a rental contract. I got as far as $100 per day (it varied on type of car I think, I recall they offered me about $100) and that they had carte blanche over your car for as long as they wanted and that you gave pretty much all rights, but actual ownership to them for that term - whatever length they wanted (they would let you know). And that they would make repairs at their discretion or pay for damages (as they appraised them) up to an including full value of the car, a value that their appraiser would give... Hard pass. |

Sad news but great everyone's Ok also sorry to those who lost their cars. Making the best of a bad situation, maybe they can alter the movie to include the fire as part of the story? ![]() ~ Pete .
