I think the shifter is splitting the brake pedal in halve, makes it look like a 3 pedal car. ive seen that shifter many times in pics for autos on the floor, Hurst I think.. No expert Here,,

They used the Hurst Auto Stick in the Deuce...it was a well made and popular shifter back in the day.
