I thought I would go for the Doubletree this year, but they want a $165 NON refundable deposit, and $30/night parking. Way too early to commit and not get free cancellation, if something comes up.

Thats why The Crowne Plaza is my first choice, although I stayed at the Hyatt last time.

I was at the Hyatt last November and just booked it again. Free cancellation up to 24 hours prior.

Hyatt has a covered ramp and enclosed walkway to the center...

Parking is $15 for our registered people, and this has been the policy for the DT and the Embassy for several years now.

The Crowne, Hilton, aLoft and Hyatt do not require an advance deposit.

We stayed at the Hilton in 2021 and it was a great option as we just do Friday night and other places require a 2 night minimum. Bigger rooms and very clean. Can use the enclosed walkway to get across the street if the weather is bad and still really close to Gibson's! Going to try and get there again in 2022. Parking was cheap ($15 as Bob said) and convenient.

Bob stated they had an agreement with Doubletree for $15 parking but it wasn't showing up on the booking page. Maybe they have a "glitch" with that. I don't have an issue with a deposit to hold a room, but when I read it wasn't refundable for ANY changes or to cancel, that doesn't seem fair for being the main host hotel along with Embassy Suites and none of the others around those 2 have that restrictive policy.

Parking is charged at the $15 daily to your master acct, as you use your key for in and out parking. As for the deposit requirement, they started this 4-5 years ago as many would book multiple rooms and then cancel some of them the week of the show. Since the DT and the Embassy are generally "party central" for MCACN, rooms always completely sell out, and they felt this would cut down on this happening. It has proven to work, as these two hotels still sell out well in advance.

With that being said, this is why we have other options that do not have this requirement. Fact is all six hotels are really nice, have great service and know what we are all about. You can't go wrong with any of them, and as many of you know, they pretty much ALL become filled with MCACN people.
