swapping Camaro driver's door mirror glass
Has anyone tried swapping their original dated mirror glass into another mirror or NOS one (this is in reference to the 3914753 mirror)? My 69 Camaro mirror is dated 4 DMI 9 so I'm pretty sure it's the original mirror, but the chrome/metal is pitted a bit and doesn't look salvageable. I'm reading the NOS mirrors have later dates which makes sense.

Jeff, I have done it by holding the mirror in a vise so the glass is facing up. Fill up the mirror head with lacquer thinner and let it sit for a day (the thinner should loosen up the adhesive). Gently pry the glass loose (I have also assisted this process using a heat gun on the backside of the mirror). You can also buy dated glass for the mirror from Paragon.

I did this and chipped my glass so let it soak good and be gentle. My adhesive was tough
