1969 Camaro ss396 conv with factory a/c springs
I copied this post from a guy on FB that's having problems getting correct front springs for his car. Anybody here has a suggestion? Thank you, Joe
I called Eaton Detroit Spring and gave them the GM #3955725. He didn’t know what that was. I told him it was a GM part number. He tried to find a crossover but could not. He took my information and said they didn’t show a 396 convertible with AC. He recommended a heavy duty spring part #MC1262. I googled it and it shows for a 6 cylinder. Heartbeat City does show the GM part number but is out of stock.

Whenever I have to get new springs, the technical advisor at Eaton helps. I usually calculate the weight myself before calling him.

Contact these guys. They have all the original specs from the manufacturers and build them for you, to order. I have had them make several sets over the years for my various Firebirds and they can also make them in any modified version you like. I have usually asked for the stock spec and then told them to make them 7/8" lower ride height and they were dead on perfect.
