So it sounds like I just need the correct hardware for the horizontal bolts. I reached out to Rich (Enoch) to see if he has them. Thanks all! |

FWIW, went down to the basement library this AM, and came back sort of empty handed. I still have Delco Remy parts breakdown books from the store I worked at through 1981. Starter listed for a 1962 409 shows number 1107233. Breakdown book says see page 52F. Page 52F is missing in action. No biggie. I'll look for other starters that used similar snouts. Page 52L is also MIA. OK, I still have a lot of Chevrolet parts books I saved from my mispent youth. The pivot bolt part number is 1932197. If the pivot is the pin and snap ring type, the part number is 1945804. I looked for restored 1107233 starters and find them with both types of pivots. I'm afraid to look any further. Someone must have saved pictures of original 1962 409 four speed cars that show those details.

This is the special Delco bolt. It is 100% correct for the 1962 starter in question. I nerd out on stuff like this and it happens to be my every day wheel house. I do respect others opinions.
