Default 69 Z Trim Tag help

Hey there guys! I'm looking for verification of a trim tag on a 69 Z28. I know there are many intelligent guys on here that can spot the fake ones from a mile away. I'm unfortunately not one of them so looking for your help. Here's a pic of the tag and the deck stamp on the front of the block is V0317DZ

Ebay ad was ended.

Description of the block VIN stamp is vague..."seems to match the VIN on the car."

V0317DZ is too early for the VIN IMHO.

04C is one of those NOR dates that span more than one week. The range is N6276xx – N6376xx, 13 production days. My Z/28 dB has 76 04C builds, 61 have April engines. The 15 March engines span March 21 – 31 with 6 March 31 examples. None of them are March 17. The last V0317DZ example is in an 03D car, final assembled March 28. The engine was in stock at NOR for 11 days, about average for that period.

The car in question is N631266, final assembled on or about April 22. Only one N631xxx Z/28 has a March [28] engine. The other 12 examples are April 2-10.

The last March 7 engine I have data on was installed in production March 27, verified by the Protect-o-Plate imprint on an original PDI. Only have data on 3 04C Z/28s with NOR 308xxx body tags. Two have April 14 engines, the other is April 9. Final assembled April 23 and April 29. I believe I have your car in my db, flagged as the engine is dated 53 days prior to final assembly. That’s way off normal.

Outliers [rarely] exist, however. Our 06E ’67 Z/28 project had its no-doubt-about-it original engine, V0706MO. Easily explained.
