Anyone using these?
https://www.griotsgarage.com/ultra-s...SAAEgIH0vD_BwE I need extra protection on the 57. Fenders are way higher than what I am used to working on. At 5'7" it is a challenge to reach much of anything in the engine compartment without laying on the fender.

I have them, but rarely use them. I've got a set of thick Craftsman covers and a vintage set of Holley covers that I use most. I bought a set of clingy covers last summer that will probably get used a lot.

What are "clingy covers"?
I have on old STP fender cover that is like the Craftsman, but starting to come apart.

I am using these here. I bought them about 10 years ago, and just love them. Heavily padded, magnets at the top to keep them in place (along with covered hooks which work well on the Corvette's). I just make a focused effort to clean the fender before I lay them down. Some of the best money I have spent!
http://netcore.byethost33.com/MuscleClassicSoltns.html ![]() ![]() BTW, the "clingy" covers are known on occasion to raise hell with lacquer. Rarely, will you see those around an NCRS meet. They have even damaged paint in a short of time to judge a car FWIW. |

They are kind of sticky, so they don't slide off. I haven't had a chance to use them yet. Still trying to get my shop finished so I can work on cars again.

Here ya go, full coverage. I bought one of these right after I had the Chevelle painted and didn't know it was held on by magnets. The paint was still soft, so I put it in a cabinet and it hasn't come out since... I need to start using it now.
I tried to include a pic, but it was too big. https://badassfendercovers.com/produ...der-cover-1957

I ordered the Griot fender covers.
Kind of thin but will work for me. I put a large HF micro fiber towel under the fender covers and that seem to work better. |

Griot sells a lot of detail products, so I figured those covers were more for detail work under the hood than for actual mechanic work. I have used them under my heavy covers for extra paint protection. I can't figure out what you would put in the pockets.

I have a Griots fender cover. Slides around a bit, but does not scratch or make swirls in the paint.
