Stamping looks good to me, but I'm sure others more knowledgeable than me will chime in here. That's one clean block.

This is my take….

(1) I don’t see any broach marks on the pad.

(2) That VIN is for a March built car but the stamp is May 23rd.

(3) The casting date is on the side of the block and should be back by the bell housing. Tonawanda switched that earlier in the year…..I think sometime late January earlier February….?

I'm no expert but those casting dates sure look like they have had some work (think Rick's recent JB Weld example post) done to them.......also shouldn't the VIN be gang stamped? This one does not appear to be stamped that way?
