Default Buc-ees is off my bucket list

I finally experience Buc-ees. Well this particular one is off I95 near Daytona. Who'd thunk a gas station would have 104 pumps and store that is almost the size of Costco. The carry an amazing selection of just about anything you could think of...

I believe the gas was under 3 dollars. Every pump was in use with a long line. Here are a few pics.

The damn restrooms are spotless and worth the stop alone! They have everything and it's all good stuff. The brisket and pulled pork are great. Damn good burritos too. If passing through in the morning get a breakfast sandwich, killer. Always stop on my way through multiple times on my trips to Atlanta and Florida. Totally worth it.

When we drove to Houston and back 9 yrs ago, we stopped at one on our drive back to AZ after hearing my brother-in-law raving about it. Unbelievable! There's now one under construction in Goodyear AZ, on the west side of Phoenix.

Buc-ees started out as a small Freeport, Texas convenience store chain. I did lots of business with many of the fuel wholesalers in the area, but since Buc-ees was all retail, I did not call on them. They have taken the C-store market by storm. They are an unbranded station that never posts their prices. They have now become their own brand, and they don't need a Shell, Exxon, or Texaco sign to attract folks like most C-stores. The amount of fuel they sell is staggering, they usually have two 9,200-gallon transports waiting on their lot to fuel their underground tanks and I would imagine they get about six loads of fuel per day at a store. Their inside sales are crazy numbers, also.

The original store is about a 50 minute drive from our house.

The big one on 45 south at Dickinson has the best fuel prices of all of them in Houston. I fill up there several times a week. Diesel right now is $2.83 for my Denali and Super Unlededfor my wifes Mini JCW Countryman is under $2.60. It is always a madhouse and especially right now with the spring breakers headed to Galveston island.
