I sold my 2023 ZL1 a couple months so I had an empty space to fill. I have been looking at Challenger Hellcat Redeyes for the last several weeks. Toward the end of last week one showed up online with the options I had been looking for and a color I like. After talking for a couple days the dealership accepted my offer Saturday afternoon. Tuesday we finalized everything. Tuesday evening I flew to New York and drove across the state line to Rochelle Park New Jersey. Wednesday I went to the dealership to check out the car and sign all the required papers. At 1:25 Wednesday afternoon I pulled out of the dealership and made the 12 1/2 hour 752 mile ride home. The car is a 2020 Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody with 4310 miles when I got it. I really like the color. I think like it more than my other Hellcat.

How would you compare it to the ZL one.? It’s cool to see these are still out there. I haven’t looked in a while.

I like the looks of the ZL1 more but, as a big guy, the Challenger is much more comfortable. I took the ZL1 on a 1000 mile 3 day road trip last year and it about beat the heck out of me. The 750 mile trip home Wednesday was pretty comfortable.

Looks great (but I'm a little baised toward that color any way.)
Too bad the dealer put that %$^'n front license plate bracket on. There's plenty of grill-mounted aftermarket plate brackets. I can't understand why they still insist on screwing 2 damn sheetmetal screws through a $2,000 front fascia. Ugh! How do like the Redeye? Gotta love the extra 100 horses over the regular Hellcat. BTW, I assume you checked out the SAE report on the emission certification testing for those engines. The engines were actually tested out by SAE to be 812hp at 6,400 rpm for the Redeye/Superstock/OG Demon engine. Dodge played the old "Pick Your Redline" game for their advertised ratings. The narrow-body 797hp was rated 100 rpm below (6,300 rpm) the 807hp wide-body Redeye/Superstock's rating at 6,400 rpm. We had ours out this morning for a carsNcoffee event down south. Put a leisurely 100 miles on the old girl. Got 2,390 on her now! I just had to buy the Mopar extended warranty for her since the original warranty expired in April. I used these guys: https://www.buymoparwarranty.com/ They sell the Mopar MaxCare at $25 above cost. Ended up getting the 8-year, 60K mile, $100 deductible plan. Cost around $3,700 but well worth it since any of the electronics or dash screens cost more than the warranty price, right off the bat. Not to even get started on any drivetrain parts. Love my "regular" Hellcat. So much damn fun! 10.90 @ over 126mph stock in bad DA and a lousy 60 foot all while getting 23.6 MPG on the way to Milan doing 80/85 mph with the M/T drag radials on, AC blasting.
Big, roomy (I'm a bigger guy too) and fast. What more do you want in a late model?
