Nice pictures Rick and its an interesting oil cooler. The oil must get hot in the Corvair. In the Yenko Stinger road test in Car and Driver magazine they show a huge oil cooler Yenko mounted on top of the rear fender like on an Indy Car of that era. The story goes that the other drivers protested it because they were affraid it would fall off. In 1967 SCCA wrote a rule to prohibit that oil cooler and Yenko had to change it.

JoeC> That car with the oil cooler mounted on the drivers side rear quarterpanel had #13 on the car. The car was owned and drove by Russ MacGrotty. My car was ordered and delivered new from Russ MacGrotty Chevrolet.

If we could turn the calendar back to 1965 right now, the crews at Yenkos place were working around the clock to get all of the 100 Yenko Stingers ready for the SCCA man to inspect them. They only took off 1 day, and that was Christmas.
If you close your eyes in a real quiet place right now, you can almost hear the crisp sound of an air-cooled 220hp. Stage III Flat six turning 7200 rpm's. Heehee Rick

Hey Rick how many do you want? Come down to the lot we're having a Christmas special. From what I can see there are about 15 Stingers in this picture with Don showing one to a potential customer. By the way, was the Stage III 220 hp or 210 hp?

Stage I is 160 hp. Stage II is 190 hp. Stage III is 220 hp. Stage IV is 240 hp. and too big of bore for D Prod. class. That info. came from my factory Yenko Stinger Brochure.
